DIWANG GUMAGALA

Ating kahapon na nagdaan,
Tila bulalakaw sa karimlan.
Pilit mang abutun at hawakan,
Sa bilis ng dating, s'ya ring paglisan.

Mga masasayang alaala,
Biglang nawala sa isang kisap-mata.
Nagtatanong, ano'ng dahil nga ba?
At ako'y naiwang nag-iisa.

Pangakong mamahalin sa t'wina,
Tanging ako lang at hindi siya.
Hiling ng puso ko, aking sinta,
Tayong dalawa, wala nang iba pa.

Alam ko, mayrong mga pangako,
Na hindi maiwasan, napapako.
Dasal ko parin, galing sa puso,
Ikaw at ako 'di magkakalayo.

Mga hinaing at diwang ligaw,
Buntong-hininga at pusong pagaw.
Pilit iwaksi, limutin ang panglaw,
Harapin ang bukas, pag-asa'y mangibabaw.

Kapagdaka...
Sa aking pisngi halik mo'y dumampi,
Yakap na mahigpit, titig na malagkit.
Puso ko'y lumukso sa iyong sinambit,
"Mahal, ako'y iyo sa bawat saglit."

BETWEEN HEAVEN AND THE FLOOR

Alone and half-awake,
I feel the creeping coldness
Brought by the early morning breeze.
The stillness of the darkened room,
Enshrouds the space between
Heaven and the floor.

Squinting through a dimmed surrounding,
In agape, at a sudden vision flashing.
A stairway from heaven cascading,
Is it a tapestry on the wall hanging?

I wonder, in my reverie-
Is this a dream or a reality?
I see His hands outstretched,
I reached out to touch His fingertips.
It is at this moment I revere,
He is much larger than life itself.
Here I am in total surrender,
Hope and Faith in my heart
Forever.

WHO DO I ASK?

Mommy,
It's been two weekends already.
Why is the rain waiting for 
Saturday and Sunday,
To pour down as heavy as can be?
Tako, Markus, Maximus, and me
We can't go out in the garden and play.
And when will the winter cold go away,
And the sun will shine, to brighten my day?

Mommy,
Who do I ask
T o drive the rain-clouds away?
Who do I ask
To bring back the blue sky for me to see?
Who do I ask
To give me just one sunny day?
So that together, you and me
Can stay in the garden all day.
You can smell your roses, and 
I can play.

MY WORLD

When you are by my side,
You hold my hand as we walk by.
Or when we lie on the carpet of greens,
As we watch in awe, the 
Distant stars mapping the sky.
With me nestled in your arms,
We both close our eyes, and
I wish that we will travel far, 
To see what lies beyond
Between the earth and the sky.
But then again, I realize
Right here, right now,
I see the world, when
I look into your loving eyes.

I've been taking steps, nowhere to go,
Sometimes in haste, sometimes slow.
Looking around for somebody I know,
Near or far, wishing it will be you.

I often ask myself if you are the one,
Who I knew before, among everyone.
Then we meet again at the right time,
In you, I found love, two hearts become one.
